The Two-Factor authentication, also known as 2FA or two step verification, is an extra layer of security that provides a way of verifying that it is the actual user that is trying to access the account. Once your username and password are entered, 2FA kicks in by asking to provide information that only, and only that user has in his possession and control.

We made it mandatory on Cointal to make sure that all trades are secure.

To set up 2FA, head to Settings > Security (on the left, under ‘verifications’), to open the 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) menu.

You then have three 2FA options available to choose, it’s up to you:

  • SMS
(Change your phone number, and then CHOOSE SMS before updating the 2-Step method)
  • Google Authenticator
(If not connected, scan QR code, then CHOOSE Google Authenticator before updating the 2-Step method)
  • PIN
(Put and remember a simple 5-digits number to remember, then CHOOSE PIN before updating the 2-Step method)

Never share any personal information that would compromise your account!

Remember well every personal information.
